Drive Another Day
About Drive Another Day
Crumball Rally’s “Drive Another Day”, is our second James Bond themed banger rally. It is a longer 4-day event, allowing us to pass through France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Monte Carlo and ending in Nice. Not only will you need to drive like “The Living Daylights”, we will also throw in the usual daily “hurdles”, and you won’t have to be Goldfinger, as your car should only cost £200!
The rally is designed to provide a fun but challenging route from NW France to the Cote d’Azur. Aside from the fine scenery offered by alpine mountains and lakes, we will be visiting several places and attractions featured in some of the many James Bond films over the years. From the splendour of Cortina (For Your Eyes Only), Solden (for the mountain top “ice Q” bar from SPECTRE), and to Venice (lately Casino Royale). The event finishes with an awards ceremony in Nice on the Sunday, giving teams the opportunity to either scrap the cars before flying home on Monday, (or driving back if they so choose).
Drive Another Day Route

Day 1: Reims to Chur
(Approximately 420 miles)
We will all meet in a large car park on the outskirts of Reims at 8.30am where all the teams can admire / laugh / take bets on the durability of each other’s vehicles! The first days route will take us through the gentle rolling countryside of the Champagne and Alsace regions of France before heading into the Swiss Alpine mountains to the picturesque city of Chur.
Day 2: Chur to Solden
(Approximately 130 miles)
Today, after an optional toboggan ride on the world famous Pradaschier toboggan run at over 3.1 km long, we head east over a series of mountain passes, finishing in the ski resort of Solden (Soelden). There we have the option of taking the cable car to the magnificent 3048 metre high mountain top “ice Q” bar (and Bond museum), featured in SPECTRE. The evening finishes off in a local bar.
Day 3: Solden to Venice via Cortina
(Approximately 250 miles)
From Solden, with the backdrop of the Otztal Alps, we all head to Venice, via the upmarket ski resort of Cortina D’Ampezzo in our imaginary “Lotus Esprits”. The evening is spent at a popular bar in the center of Venice and offers plenty of opportunity for sightseeing.
Day 4: Venice to Nice
(Approximately 350 miles)
An early freestyle start from Venice takes us west via the banks of Lake Garda, and then across to Nice via Monte Carlo and the magnificent coast road. Don your dinner jackets (with optional shorts) and then head to a bar in the picturesque old town for the awards ceremony and farewell party.
