Grand Prix

About Grand Prix

This event coincides with the bi-annual Monaco Historic Grand Prix. This rally ran in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2018. Because it is themed loosely on the seminal sixties motor racing film ‘Grand Prix’, the route takes in many historic racing locations (and plenty more besides) … en-route to Monte Carlo, to enjoy the racing.

Grand Prix Route

The Grand Prix route combines the usual dash across the rolling French countryside, with the vistas of Switzerland followed by the beauty and tranquility of the Italian Lakes. Add in optional visits to the historic racing circuits at Reims and Monza, a more relaxing Day 2 visiting one of the world’s greatest car museums, and finally the stunning and scenic drive from Italy down to Monaco for a welcome prize gathering, this route really does have something for everyone.

Day 1: Boulogne to Strasbourg

Setting off from Boulogne, we head into Champagne country, stopping by at the historic (and now partly restored) racing circuit in Reims before heading east to the medieval cobbled streets of Colmar, just south of Strasbourg, for our first night.

Day 2: Strasbourg to Lake Como

The day begins at one of the world’s great car collections (and largest single collection of Bugattis): the Schlumpf collection, before heading into Switzerland, with its stunning passes and sweeping alpine roads, and down the other side into Italy and Lake Como, for a relaxing evening of lakeside eating and drinking.

Day 3: Lake Como to Monte Carlo

Our third day itinerary takes us along the lakes to Monza before heading Southwards towards Nice for our Saturday night arrival party… although that’s not the end of the event because on Sunday we take a 20 minute train journey into Monte Carlo to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Monaco historic Grand Prix!
