RULES AND T&C'S
There are very few rules, but they are important and will be enforced where your safety is involved. Our decision is final. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment all teams will be required to agree to the full Terms and Conditions of entry to each event which will be made available electronically or given out at the pre-start registration get together.
The No Racing rule
This event is categorically not a race, and anyone who thinks otherwise will be unceremoniously booted off the rally! Likewise, any anti social behaviour will not be tolerated.
The No Bumping rule
This rally is not a fairground ride. Bumping into or nudging other team cars, whether driving or parked is strictly prohibited.
Eligible Cars
Car eligibility depends upon the event you take part in. In 2010, 'Grand Prix' is open to any car that is at least 15 years old. It can be any type and any value, so you are welcome to come in a banger or a classic. Thundercrawl is a traditional 'banger rally', where the car should cost, or have a present value, that does not exceed £200. Although we will not be carefully scrutinising the value of every car against a Parker's guide, if you turn up in a spanking new BMW, don't be surprised if the other competitors want to "blow the bloody doors off" it!
Condition of the Car
Whether you come in a banger or a classic, it must be road worthy, and where there is a value limit on the value of the car this does not include the amount you can spend to get it through an MOT if necessary, or improve your chances that it will make the finish safely.
Unsafe modifications
Factory built convertibles are acceptable but “crop tops” involving the removal of the roof are unsafe and are strictly banned.
Documentation
You must present a valid MOT, Insurance (including continental cover) and your driving license at the start of the rally...... without these you are not in the rally, no exceptions.
Disposing of your Car
Unless you intend to make a holiday of the rally and drive back to Blighty, you can either sell or dispose of your vehicle in an environmentally sound manner by taking it to a local scrapyard at the finish. We do not condone any illegal dumping at the roadside or leaving your car in a long stay at the airport.
If I find I cannot rally after all?
Unfortunately refunds can only be made if you inform us within fourteen days of paying your entry fee. We are however happy to accept changes to team members up to a week before the event, so you can transfer your entry to other willing participants.
