Crumball Rally

RULES AND T&C'S

There are very few rules, but they are important and will be enforced where your safety is involved. Our decision is final. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment all teams will be required to agree to the full Terms and Conditions of entry to each event which will be made available electronically or given out at the pre-start registration get together.

The No Racing rule

This event is categorically not a race, and anyone who thinks otherwise will be unceremoniously booted off the rally! Likewise, any anti social behaviour will not be tolerated.

The No Bumping rule

This rally is not a fairground ride. While bangers which are to be scrapped at the end make up a good proportion of the vehicles taking part, bumping into or nudging other team cars, whether driving or parked, is strictly prohibited.

Eligible Cars

There are two classes of car eligible to take part:‘Ragtops’, which are classified as any 2 seater convertible with an engine size of no more than 2.5 litres (of any age and value) and 'Bangers' which should cost, or have a present value, that does not exceed £200. Although we do not carefully scrutinise the value of every car against a Parker's guide, if you turn up in a spanking new BMW, don't be surprised if the other competitors want to "blow the bloody doors off" it!

Condition of the Car

Whether you come in a banger or a ragtop, it must be road worthy, and the £200 limit on the value of a banger does not include any necessary money required to get it safe and roadworthy (or improve your chances that it will make the finish safely!).

Unsafe modifications

Factory built convertibles are welcomed on the rallies, but “crop tops” involving the removal of a roof on a solid top car are unsafe and are strictly banned.

Documentation

You must present a valid MOT, Insurance (including continental cover) and your driving license at the start of the rally...... without these you are not in the rally, no exceptions.

Disposing of your Car

Many make a holiday of the rally and drive back to Blighty at the end. If you want to return without your car you can either sell it or dispose of it in an environmentally sound manner by taking it to a local scrapyard at the finish. We do not condone any illegal dumping at the roadside or leaving your car in a long stay at the airport.

If I find I cannot rally after all?

Unfortunately refunds can only be made if you inform us within fourteen days of paying your entry fee. We are however happy to accept changes to team members up to a week before the event, so you can transfer your entry to other willing participants.
